The Music Ministry of First United Methodist Church of Magee serves a vital role in the worship experiences of the church family. The Sanctuary Choir provides music for all Sunday morning worship services, Christmas, Easter, special days, and other events. The Sanctuary Choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 6:45 p.m. Inspired is a small ensemble made up of choir members who sing regularly at FUMC worship services, special events, and by invitation in the community. Inspired meets on Tuesday nights.
The Sanctuary Choir has established the Thomas McIntyre Memorial Fund which serves as an outreach ministry of our choir members. This mission fund is made possible through donations, proceeds from our choir cookbook, memorials, and honorariums. Gifts to this mission ministry may be designated for the Thomas McIntyre Memorial Fund and given to any choir member or the church office.
Sewing Grace Ministry is another outreach facilitated by the Sanctuary Choir. Sewing Grace Ministry builds Christian relationships as we partner to sew little dresses to be given to deserving children in the Honduras mission field. Sewing Grace Ministry is a diverse group made up of choir members, church family, community members, friends in international charities, and church groups across the state and beyond.
The Music Ministry of Magee First United Methodist Church welcomes new members to become involved by singing in the choir or joining in our outreach projects as we share the rich blessings received when we give of our time and talents to others both near and far.
